What began as the historical preservation of Donald Ross’ last design in Raleigh, North Carolina has blossomed into a portfolio of championship golf courses stretching from the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee to the coasts of the Carolinas. McConnell Golf’s flagship property, Raleigh Country Club, was acquired in 2003 and has been a cornerstone of growth ever since. Through improvements to its facilities and operations, CEO John McConnell established a winning strategy that the company continues to extend and refine through its sister properties.
McConnell Golf emerged as an industry leader by offering members access to a collection of pristine golf courses designed by legendary architects such as Ross, Pete Dye and Arnold Palmer. Consistently ranked among the best in their respective states, McConnell Golf proudly hosts one PGA tournament, two Korn Ferry Tour events and several acclaimed amateur and collegiate contests. Under the direction of John McConnell as CEO, McConnell Golf is the largest owner of premier country clubs in the Southeast region. Our portfolio of 16 properties have footprints in North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia with courses designed by the likes of Donald Ross, Pete Dye, Tom Fazio, Arnold Palmer and Greg Norman. This includes management of Raleigh Golf Association (RGA) in Raleigh, North Carolina and the top-ranked Pete Dye River Course of Virginia Tech in Radford, Virginia.
